Lions Last Leg in Safari

  • Lions Last Leg in Safari

In years gone by playing the Lions would be considered a pushover, this year, however, things have changed. The Lions have won three of their five outings and are surprisingly sitting second on the SA conference board.

The Reds have lost devastating Center, Chris Feauai-Sautia and prop Ben Daley to injury for their game against the Lions. This brings Ben Tapuai into the centers and Anthony Faingaa to the bench.

To beat the Lions the Reds are going to have to be smart with the ball and completely reduce handling errors. In defence they are going to have to be rock solid yet maintain a zen-like self control so they don't manage to give away needless penalties, as seems to be our modus operandi lately.

The dange rmen we face this week are the machine and Captain, Warren Whitely and prodigal, rookie flyhalf, Marnitz Boshoff and his heat-seeking boot. If we can find a way to reduce both of these blokes impact and ability to dictate the game, we might be in with a pretty good chance.

Once again, I'm looking forward to Liam Gill producing another gut-busting effort and for Aidan "The Kid with Toe" Toua to create some blistering line-breaks.

I've tipped the Reds for this one, but I'm not sure if my head or my heart made the tip. Perhaps it was a weird amalgamation of the both.

Who do you think are their danger men? Which of the Reds do you think is going to have the most impact on this game?
