Dom Shipperley, Rod Davies, Aidan Toua and Jonah Placid have all jumped ship leaving the Reds backline in complete and utter disarray. This mass exodus is bizarre: one rough season and everyone is keen as mustard to put as much distance between themselves and Queensland.
The good news, however, is that the powers that be are in negotiations with Brumbies monster winger, Joe Tomane, and apparently things are looking good on that front.
There are still mumblings and rumours that James OíConnor and Karmichael Hunt are good chances of donning the Red next season too. OíConnor especially is looking likely to sign on the dotted line even though the ARU is steadfastly refusing to offer him a contract, meaning that the Reds would have to bear the brunt of JOCís entire contract without any top-ups from the ARU.
In other news Will Genia will not return to the Reds for the remainder of the season after ankle surgery.
Why do you think our backline are fleeing like prison escapees?
