Any Red-blooded Queensland Reds fan felt a little deflated at the end of last season when Dom Shipperley and Mike Harris cut and run.
This year feels like a monumental kick in the pants department by comparison.
Quade Cooper, Will Genia, James Horwill, James Hanson and now Ben Tapuai have all announced that they will be scarpering like rats from a sinking ship this season. Christ, that's half the bloody team!
At least last year we had some big name signings like James O'Connor, Karmichael Hunt and Taniela Tupou to placate the hurting masses.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of light at the end of this ominous tunnel.
On top of that it looks as though Richard Graham's tenure as head coach is as doomed as the dodo. Some people say former coach John Connolly will resume his former role.
The Super Rugby 2016 season is looking decidedly grim for Queensland unless some major changes are enacted and pronto! The last thing the good people of Brisbane and Queensland need is to watch another team of theirs that were former champions sink into oblivion like the Brisbane Lions or the Brisbane Roar.
